Аннотация. Музыка Мали как часть национальной культуры вносит вклад в общественную дискуссию о таких социальных практиках, как принудительные браки молодых девушек. В данной статье предлагается социокультурный анализ ее роли как средства повышения осведомленности. В исследовании используется качественная методология, сочетающая тематический анализ песен социально активных исполнителей, таких как Уму Сангаре. Фатумата Диавара. Нахава Думбия и Тата Бамбо Куяте. с интерпретацией интервью, проведенными со слушателями в Бамако, Мали. Результаты показывают, что музыка может использоваться для осуждения ранних браков, содействия образованию и согласию девочек, а также для поощрения критического мышления. Однако восприятие этих посланий различается у разных аудиторий. Данное исследование способствует эмпирическому пониманию роли культурных практик в динамике социальных изменений в Западной Африке.

Musical Expressions
and Social Resistance in Mali
in the Face of Forced Child Marriage

Abstract. Malian music, as a central cultural expression, contributes to the public debate surrounding social practices such as the forced marriage of young girls. This article offers a socio-cultural analysis of its role as a vehicle for raising awareness. The study employs a qualitative methodology combining a thematic analysis of songs by socially engaged artists such as Oumou Sangaré, Fatoumata Diawara, Nahawa Doumbia, and Tata Bambo Kouyaté, with interviews conducted with listeners in Bamako, Mali. The results show that music can be used to denounce early marriage, promote girls’ education and consent, and encourage critical thinking. However, the reception of these messages varies among different audiences. This study contributes to the empirical understanding of the role of cultural practices in the dynamics of social change in West Africa.
